Puzzle 1

Rich T. provides a plate of biscuits for three of his friends to take with their cups of tea. The first friend takes half the biscuits plus half a biscuit. The second friend takes half the remaining biscuits plus half a biscuit. The third friend then takes half the remaining biscuits plus half a biscuit. Rich T. notes that the plate is now empty. How many biscuits were originally on the plate?

Puzzle 2:

1) Fill the 5u measure, and from it fill the 3u measure thus leaving 2u in the 5u measure.

2) Empty the 3u measure, then transfer the 2u from the 5u measure to the 3u measure.

3) Fill the 5u measure then from it fill the 3u measure. (this requires 1u to fill thus leaving 4u in the 5u measure)

Puzzle 3: arrange 12 biscuits to form a square with 4 on each side, then place an extra biscuit over each corner biscuit
